Scottish acts to look out for in 2012 (part 3)

The end is nigh, for our bands to look out for list anyway. In part 1 we called out Campfires in Winter, Will Hanson and Laki Mera, whilst in part 2 it was the turn of Young Fathers, Cherri Fosphate and Mickey 9s.

In this final part, and there is no extension to this trilogy, we start with the rocking Glaswegians PAWS. The trio are due to record their first long player in January. They appeared on the Vic Galloway show just last night and have made the ‘watch out for…’ list on more than one influential blog, as well as being voted number 4 in the best bands list on the brilliant Aye Tunes website. Their MySpace page has music aplenty for you to judge for yourself.

Next is an old favourite of CMM in the shape of Trigger The Escape. The Cumbernauld band have oodles of energy to go with their undoubted talent and seem determined to make 2012 a big year. They will kindly let you download their song Shoot The Weatherman from their Facebook page. It’s free to find out what their about. Give it a go!

And to end the list, and it is up to you if you want to consider this a ‘saving the best till last’ moment, we give you the eccentric brilliance of Mummy Short Arms, who list Talking Heads and Captain Beefheart amongst their influences. The gravel tones of the James Allen’s vocal compliments off-piste subject matters and convention defining music.

That’s yer lot.
