Croy Music Miscellany doesn’t have any genre or specific subject bias so long as the article, submission, ramble or whatever is about music.

Unsolicited submissions are welcome – as are ideas for new articles. Our policy is to allow the music to do the talking and the general submission guidelines are that the writing has to be coherent and have a point that is of interest. This direction may seem rather broad and unspecific, it is meant to be. However, here some ideas to get potential contributors thinking:

CD Reviews: any genre, albums or EPs, are cool. 300-500 words would be a guide for length. If you are submitting include a link to the band/artist’s website and a picture of the cover.

Gig/Festival Reviews: Pretty much as above, with a personal touch would be just lovely.

Interviews: If you can swing it great – and remember, this is not genre specific and we will include unsigned bands, but not your mates or a wedding band or the two wee guys from second year who jam on a Friday night.  Make it interesting! Links and pictures would be a fantastic addition to any submission of this type.

Profiles, features & well, anything!: Write about your experiences. You know, like an event, what a song means to you, the band, the singer, the memories. Whatever it is, make it from the heart. Think of it like a one page biography – something 500-1500 words would fit in this bracket.

Videos: Links to YouTube with some commentary as to why our readers should bother playing it.

Top Ten Lists: The top ten of anything; videos, songs, bands, music and its personal meaning, etc. You could write about the Top Ten Songs To Use A Flymo To – we don’t care so long as it is interesting.  Definitely a 1,000+ word standard here.

REALLY IMPORTANT: There is no payment as this is purely a for the love venture.

There is no minimum or maximum word count and the above guidelines are just that, and in the loosest sense of the word. Use your imagination.
